Abstract

The paper presents the results of the assessment of the state of biological diversity and the quality of environmental factors (air, soil) from the ecosystems of the Emerald Site „Pădurea Hâncești”. The study was based on field and
laboratory research. As a result, it was found that the Emerald Site „Pădurea Hâncești” includes favorable natural
habitats for valuable species of flora and fauna with national and international protection status. The soil in the Site’s
ecosystems is not subject to the risk of nutrient insufficiency for vegetation and heavy metal toxicity for plants and
soil organisms. The level of the external gamma radiological fund does not exceed the admissible limits. Based on the
obtained results, the managerial actions for the sustainable conservation of biological diversity in the Emerald Site
„Pădurea Hâncești” are formulated.
Keywords: sustainable management, biodiversity, environmental factors.
