Abstract

Research in the field is mainly focused on physiological studies of fruit trees. The main goal is to highlight the
most informative functional indicators of some varieties depending on environmental factors. Drought, through insufficient water in the soil and atmosphere, high temperature and solar radiation, is the most alarming factor limiting
the productivity and stability of the harvest for most crops, including fruit crops. The study of elements associated
with the photosynthesis process in plums under conditions of insufficient moisture has highlighted changes in the
leaf area per tree depending on the variety and the degree of water deficiency; the subordination of the content of
photosynthetic pigments to the biological peculiarities of the variety, as well as to growth conditions.
Keywords: plum, leaf area, environmental factors, leaves, drought, chlorophyll pigments.
