SOIL RESOURCE RESERVES IN THE NORTHERN PART OF THE REPUBLIC OF MOLDOVA – VALUABLE NATURAL MONUMENTS PROTECTED BY THE STATE

Abstract
According to the Law on the State Protected Natural Areas Fund no. 1538/1998, the total area of the FANPS is
210,695.87 ha (2106.96 km2) or 5.8% of the total territory of the country. The resource reserves aim to conserve
natural resources in order to maintain them in their natural state for subsequent sustainable volorification. Annex no.
6, of Law no. 1538 of 25.02.1998 regarding the fund of natural areas protected by the state includes the Resource
Reserves (soil, 13 in number) which is meant to protect complexes of virgin soils and the most representative types
of soils, some in their natural state and others in the agricultural circuit.
