Abstract

FAUNA OF TREMATODES OF COMPLEX PELOPHYLAX ESCULENTA (AMPHIBIA, ANURA) FROM CENTRAL CODRI FOREST OF THE REPUBLIC OF MOLDOVA. 1. FAMILIES PLAGIORCHIIDAE, CEPHALOGONIMIDAE

The paper presents data on trematodes infestation in amphibians from family Ranidae (Amphibia, Anura) in natural and anthropized ecosystems of Central Codri forest from the Republic of Moldova. The helminthological researches of amphibians were accomplished for the first time in the Republic of Moldova. As result the infestation of Ranidae family species (Rana ridibunda, R. lessonae, R. esculenta) with trematodes from families Gorgoderidae (Gorgodera varsoviensis Sinitzin, 1905), Diplodiscidae (Diplodiscus subclavatus Pallas, 1760), Plagiorchiidae (Opisthioglyphe ranae Frohlich, 1791, Haematoloechus variegatus Rudolphi, 1819), Cephalogonimidae (Cephalogonimus retusus Dujardin, 1845) and Lecithodendriidae (Pleurogenes claviger Rudolphi, 1819, Pleurogenoides medians,Olsson, 1876, Prosotocus confusus Looss, 1894, Candidotrema loossi, Africa, 1930) was established. In the paper there are presented the resuts regarding the infestation of complex Pelophylax esculenta by the trematode species from families Plagiorchiidae and Cephalogonimidae. For each species there were established: taxonomic status, including synonyms, the hosts, the location in organs, the geographic spreading, etiology and biologic cycle. There are also mentioned the amount of collected material, the morphologic description of the species, original figures and pictures, the level of infestation depending on age, sex and ecosystem. Keywords: Amphibia, Anura, trematodes, families Plagiorchiidae, Cephalogonimidae.
