Abstract

THE QUANTITATIVE ANATOMY OF LEAF BLADE EPIDERMIS OF GRAPEVINE (VITIS L.)

In order to revial adaptable characters of drought resistance of grapevine, are calculated the biometric values of 11 anatomic characters of leaf blade epidermis at 15 species of genus Vitis L. and 15 local cultivars of species Vitis vinifera L. The stomatal density per 1 mm2 of foliar area is specific and sortspecific and varies from 101,14 stomata/mm2, at local sort Rara neagră to 225,50 stomata/mm2, at Vitis silvestris. The stomatal complex of leaf blade abaxial epidermis of studied species and cultivars of grapevine is of actinocytic type and it is characteristic for the genus Vitis L. The species of genus Vitis L. – V. californica, V. sylvestris – and local cultivars – Coarna neagră, Copciac and Plavae – are more adaptable to concrete life conditions, because the they density of stomata do not considerable change in year 2008, next after drought 2007 year. Mare adaptable to new life conditions are species V. monticola, V. rupestris, V. solonis and cultivars Feteasca neagră and Rara neagră, at which the stomatal density is more changed in year 2008. It is elaborated the method for determination the average area of stomata and basal cells of abaxial epidermal cells of leaf blade of grapevine (Vitis L.). Keywords: abaxial epidermis, adaxial epidermis, leaf blade, method, drought resistance, Vitis L.
