Abstract

NEW MCTHOD FOR CULTIVATION OF MANNOPROTEIN-PRODUCING SACCHAROMYCES CEREVISIAE CNMN-Y-18 YEAST

The paper provides new information about the influence of different TiO2 and ZnO / MgO nanoparticle concentrations on biomass accumulation and mannoprotein content in yeasts. It has been found that the TiO2 nanoparticles of 30 nm in size and of 10 and 15 mg/L concentrations have the ability to stimulate the biosynthesis of mannoproteins in the biomass of the Saccharomyces cerevisiae CNMN-Y-18 strain, features that have not been shown by the ZnO/MgO nanoparticles. We propose a new method of yeast cultivation with titanium dioxide nanoparticles application that provides enhanced content of mannoproteins. Keywords: TiO2, ZnO/MgO nanoparticles, Saccharomyces cerevisiae CNMN-Y-18, biomass, mannoproteins.
