Abstract

GROUNDWATER CHLORO-ALKALINE INDEX AS FUNCTION OF NITRATE CONCENTRATION IN WATER

In the article are exposed the calculated values of chloro-alkaline index, that indicate the exchange of ions Na+ and K+ in water with Mg2+ and Ca2+ from mineral medium, depending of nitrates concentration in groundwater water from the Republic of Moldova and of other countries that being in the publications. Of variants taken into account on the example of Natural Hydrological Monuments it was highlighted the importance of protected areas for water sources and demonstrated impact of economic activities, especially agriculture, on the process of groundwater increasing hardness (Mg2+ and Ca2+).
