The hematological changes occurring in diabetes are a major problem, which constantly requires the study of
methods of their prophylaxis. The research carried out on the basis of the aqueous extract of Nostoc holophilum, highlights the bioactive effect on the leukocyte formula in the given pathology. The advantage of using the researched
biopreparation in experimental diabetes is its mild action and lack of adverse effects when following the recommended doses. Due to the results obtained, we can say that the use of natural remedies has become a well-defined branch
of modern medicine. The use of extracts from cyanobacteria in the prophylaxis of endocrine pathologies stimulates
the body’s defense system, so that, in essence, the body fights the disease on its own.
