Thyroid pathology represents one of the most prevalent endocrine disorders worldwide. The present study aimed to assess the functional status of the thyroid gland in patients with hypothyroidism and hyperthyroidism by quantifying serum levels of thyroid hormones (T3, T4, TSH). The study cohort comprised patients evaluated between February and March, with findings compared against a healthy control group. The results demonstrated significant alterations in hormonal concentrations. Hypothyroidism was characterized by reduced T3/T4 levels accompanied by elevated TSH, whereas hyperthyroidism was marked by increased T3/T4 levels and suppressed TSH. These findings underscore the pivotal role of thyroid hormonal balance in the diagnosis and clinical monitoring of affected patients, emphasizing the necessity of timely therapeutic intervention.
