THE CONTENT OF HEAVY METALS IN THE ENVIRONMENTAL COMPONENTS IN THE CENTRAL AREA OF THE REPUBLIC OF MOLDOVA
The aim of this paper was to determine the content of heavy metals (Pb, Cd and Cu) in the environmental components (soil, water and flora) in the central area of the Republic of Moldova. Have been selected 4 study sites with different human impact, from which have been collected samples of soil, water and flora. The heavy metal content in the soil, water and flora samples have been determined by Atomic Absorption Spectrometry with thermal atomization. The research result has been showed the presence of researched metals in all soil and flora samples and their lack in the water samples with the Cu exception. The concentrations of Pb, Cd and Cu in the environmental components from the anthropic site (industrial and transport areas) have been higher compared to those from the forest site (td = 2,05 - 4,36; P< 0,05 - 0,001). Analogical to those from the soil, also, their concentrations in meliferous flora taken from anthropic sites have higher values compared to those from the forest site (td = 1,19 - 4,0; P > 0,1 - < 0,001). Also, the concentration of Cu in the samples of water taken from industrial and transport areas have been higher compared to those from the forest site (td = 2,0 - 5,17; P < 0,1 - 0,001). We can conclude that, the concentration of researched heavy metals in the environmental components depends on the type of emitting sources in these sites. However, in all investigated sites have been not found exceeded of the maximum permissible levels, according to the norms. Keywords: environmental components, soil, water, flora, heavy metals, impact.
