HYPERTEXT: THE HISTORY OF THE TERM

Abstract

Advances in information technology in the last few decades have come with a terminology specific to their own field of action and research. Hypertext is one of these fundamental notions. However, this word has a double origin. Thus, should there be one or two hypertexts? We offer to answer this question through the rich history of this term in the context of the fundamental concepts of terminology. We will equally follow its lexicographic presence, its derivative power and modern semantic. Keywords: literary criticism, hypertext, onomasiology, semasiology, ICT.
