Аннотация
The study of Al. Yatymirschi from 1903 presents an excellent examination of the investigations of the most
notable researchers from the end of the 18th century - the 19th century, who were concerned with the problem of
the ethnogenesis of the Romanians. We emphasize - the ethnogenesis of the Romanian people. The author never
mentions the false phrase, ,,ethnogenesis of the Moldavian people” introduced as a ,,scientific” phrase during the
Soviet period, and when trying to prove the existence of the ,,Moldovan people”, especially the Romanian people.
Al. Yatymirschi demonstrated to the Russian scholarly world, including the Bessarabian intelligentsia, who still used
the phrase ,,Moldovan people” and sought its origin, that European scholars were investigating the ethnogenesis of
the Romanian people, not the ,,Moldovan people”, the linguistic and ethnic unity of residents of Moldova, Wallachia
and Transylvania, including Bessarabia. In this context, the current Moldovanism, after 1991, is a consequence of the
Russian imperial policy promoted in Bessarabia, continued in the Soviet era, but also in the Republic of Moldova,
by certain political forces.
