FOOD LABELS – TRANSLATION, TERMINOLOGY AND CULTURE SPECIFICITY

Abstract
Food labels provide more than just text, pictures and numbers. They serve as a connection point for the producer
and the consumer and provide essential information about food products. In this article we aim to analyse the role and
importance of food labels in communicating with the consumer and the type of information they provide about food
products. We also aim to explore the role of the translator in ensuring effective communication between the producer
and the consumer, addressing issues related to food industry terminology, cultural adaptation, while emphasizing the
importance of providing accurate translations in terms of form and content, in compliance with the regulations in force.
