This research article is focused on the analysis of the migraine and the “migraine personality”, a problem that continues to be relevant today. The goal of this article is twofold: (1) compare the character traits of migraine indi- viduals (the test group) versus non-migraine individuals (the control group); and (2) identify the correlation between the emotional traits and the willpower of a migraine individual, controlling for the seriousness of the illness. The practical aspect of the research is based on a multifaceted methodology (observation, anamnesis, migraine diagnostic questionnaire, the Big Five questionnaire (5 FPQ that allows a five-dimensional profile analysis of the per- sonality), and the MIDAS questionnaire that assesses the seriousness of the illness. A statistical analysis was effectuated using the results obtained. The research conducted demonstrates the relevance of the concept of a “migraine person,” confirming the specificity of certain observed personality traits. It is important to note that the identified traits are representative only in the context of the emotional-willful domain, exhibiting significant differences from the observations noted in non-migraine individuals. Therefore, we can state that the affectivity of a migraine individual reflects his/her unfavorable negative polarity (emotional liability, anxiety and tension), which is not exteriorized, potentially leading to an increase in mental tension. This potential surge in mental tension is due to the domination of willpower on the individual’s behavior, including the individual’s convictions.
