THE SOCIAL REPRESENTATION AND REMEMBERING OF THE EVENTS OF APRIL 2009 This study presents the results of an exploratory research about the media representation and the way in which the protest events from April 2009 are remembered, based on data sources from 2010-2013 and 2019-2020. This comparative analysis highlights specific peculiarities regarding the way the events were approached during the first years after their occurrence and after ten years. Over time, there is a decrease in media interest in the protest events; moreover, they are often presented in media contexts that rather determine their interpretations and negative connotations. At the end of the study, some recommendations are proposed regarding the necessity for a deeper analysis of this landmark event for the society of the Republic of Moldova.
