ON THE CONVOLUTIONS OF POWER SERIES TYPE IN THE DISCRETE CASE

Abstract

The class of the power series distribution type brings together a wide range of discrete distributions. The composition of this class allows the study of lifetime distribution system, which is characterized by a convolution sum of independent and identically distributed random variables (i.i.d.r.v) of a discrete case in random number, it has a power series distribution type. Hence we obtain the generating function of the lifetime and its expectation and variation. Keywords: lifetime, power series distribution, convolution, generating function.
